What is a design?
A design is a variation of your project. One Click LCA Planetary calculates results for each design you create. This enables you to compare multiple options and to find the most optimal solution for embodied carbon impacts and materials efficiency.
1. Creating a first design
Open your project and click the 'Get started' button:
In the popup window you can give your design a name and choose the stage and scope:
The construction stage selection does not impact your calculations. It simply enables you to differentiate the same project designs which are created at different project stages.
2. Design options
Every design can be modified, copied, deleted, locked and hidden. You can do those actions by clicking on the design name:
Modify: enables changing the project name and construction stage.
Add new note: enables adding a note that can help distinguish a design or add important info about it.
Copy: copies the design. Copying a design is the most efficient way to compare alternative options. In the copied design you can do the modifications and then compare it to the original.
Delete: deletes the design permanently.
Lock: locks the design so the data included in the design cannot be edited. Locking a design is recommended once the design is complete, so no modifications can't be made by mistake.
Hide design: hides the design from view. It can be unhidden if you want to show it again.
3. Creating a new design
If you do not wish to copy your design and want to create a new one from scratch then simply click '+ Add a design' button:
