Construction site operations

Construction site operations

As per EN 15978 the site impacts from construction works are reported in the A5 module. To read more about life cycle stages (modules), go here.
One Click LCA enables to add construction site operation related impacts using project-specific data or use our climate zone average impacts.

Using project specific info for site impacts

For some certification schemes you need to add specifically defined site impacts, for instance, BREEAM UK NC 2014 scheme requires the inclusion of fuel used for the excavation works. In such cases include only what is necessary and leave other questions empty.
If you have project-specific data available, fill in questions 2.-4. on the 'Construction site operations' tab.
Add total consumption of location-specific electricity, and district heating in kWh. Add fuel use in a suitable unit for your fuel type.
Add total consumption of water use in m3, and waste produced in kg.

Using Construction site scenarios (climate zone averages)

Select suitable climate region and include building area in m2.
  • The averages are including average impacts per climate region for electricity and fuel consumption, and waste production.
  • Nordic countries have available average impacts for different energy impacts.

Additional trips for the transport to the construction site

This section can be used to include impacts from transportation of construction materials which require additional trips to the site or to include multiple transportation modes for single material row (from Building materials tab). Here is an example of including multiple transportation modes for construction materials:

1000 kg of steel is transported from manufacturer to the construction site
Distance between manufacturer and the site is 500 km
  • 400 km is transported with Large delivery truck 9 ton capacity (100% fill rate)
  • 100 km is transported with  Roro/Ropax ship
Include one transportation mode and respective distance to the 'Building materials' tab to the material resource

Include second transportation mode and respective distance to the 'Additional trips for the transport to the construction site' question
