Educational licenses for coursework: Universities can purchase One Click LCA software for the use in coursework. Once the license is created, a tutor manages the license. The tutor will have a license key that will be given out to the students. With this license key, you can start one new project on the university license. Each project is licensed for 1 or 2 semesters. It is possible to start a new project but no data transition from one project to another is possible.

What does the coursework license include?

This depends on what the university has purchased but generally it is:
  1. EN-15978 Building LCA tool
  2. Business features (including all import options)
  3. Student are not allowed to contact customer support. Questions go through your tutor.
  4. We do not provide BIM tools. However, Autodesk Revit offers a free student license and  SImplebim also offers a free trial. Both BIM tools have One Click LCA integrations. You can find how to download and use integrations here: One Click LCA BIM integrations.

How do you get access to a coursework license?

  1. Your university will need to have purchased a license
  2. You will need to register an account on the One Click LCA platform
  3. You will need to create a project (the type depends on what your university has purchased
  4. You will need to activate your project

Step 1. Purchasing a coursework license for universities

In order to use One Click LCA for coursework or research, a license will need to be purchased first. Licenses for educational purposes and research are available at a discounted rate. You can request a quote for a coursework or research license here: Request a quote for educational license

Step 2. Registering an account on the One Click LCA platform

Navigate to our website and create an account on the One Click LCA platform. Do not forget to activate your account by clicking the link in your inbox. You can also register an account by clicking this link.

Step 3. Create the right type of project

Depending on what license your university has, create the correct type of project, fill in all the required information, and click 'Save'. 

Step 4. Activate your project with your provided key

Your tutor will have a license key which he or she will share with you. Once you have created a project, you will have the option to enter a license key. Activating this project will ensure you can start with your calculations and the tutor will have access to your project.
  1. After activation you can access the project for 1 or 2 semesters, depending on the agreement.


The license keys we provide have a validity period of 30 days. In case you do not activate your project on time and have an expired license key, your tutor will be able to provide you with a new key.

Important notices

  1. Students using the coursework educational license don’t have access to email or chat support! All guidance is available in Customer Support Center. Coursework educational license allows only the main user to use email support and customer kick off training can be purchased additionally.
