Free One Click LCA license for students

Educational license for individual students: If you need to do an LCA calculation for your dissertation or final year project you request to get a student license. You will be provided with a license key  which can be used to activate your project. Each project is licensed for a period of 1 year. We offer student licenses for Europe & International, as well as student licenses for North America.

What does the free student license include?

The free student license includes the following: 
  1. EN-15978 Building LCA tool
  2. Business features (including all import options)
  3. No customer support. You must find your answers on the customer support center. (available under 'Help')
  4. We do not provide BIM tools. However, Autodesk Revit offers a free student license and SImplebim also offers a free trial. Both BIM tools have One Click LCA integrations. You can find how to download and use integrations here: One Click LCA BIM integrations.

How do you get a free student license?

  1. Your will need to have requested a license, and this request needs to be approved
  2. You will need to register an account on the One Click LCA platform
  3. You will need to create a 'building' project
  4. You will need to activate your project

Step 1. Requesting a free student license

A free student license to perform building LCA calculations can be requested at the following link: Request a free student license. Requests are generally answered within 2 business days.

Please note:
  1. Only sign with your educational email address, we do not provide licenses to personal email addresses
  2. Please make sure this is written correctly, if it cannot receive an email we will not be able to reach you
  3. State your research topic clearly, if unclear we will not be able to grant your request
  4. The free student license is for BUILDING LCA only. We do not provide free licenses for product or process LCA. We provide Infrastructure LCA tools on request.

Step 2. Registering an account on the One Click LCA platform

Navigate to our website and create an account on the One Click LCA platform. Do not forget to activate your account by clicking the link in your inbox. You can also register an account by clicking this link.

Step 3. Create the right type of project

Student licenses are only provided for BUILDING LCA. Create the correct type of project (Building), fill in all the required information, and click 'Save'.

Step 4. Activate your project with your provided key

If your application has been approved, you will receive an email with instructions and a license key. This license key can be used to activate a BUILDING project only.
  1. The license key is only valid for the month in which it is provided.
  2. After activation you can access the project for 365 days.

The license keys have a validity period of 30 days. In case you do not activate your project on time and have an expired license key, please contact support who will be able to provide you with a new license key.

Important notice

  1. Students using the free student license don’t have access to email or chat support! All guidance is available in Customer Support Center. Coursework educational license allows only the main user to use email support and customer kick off training can be purchased additionally.
